Small Business Saturday

Celebrating the Heart of Our Community

Every year, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, communities across the country come together for Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to celebrating and supporting the small, locally owned shops that give our towns their character, creativity, and heart.

Launched in 2010, Small Business Saturday began as a grassroots movement to uplift independent businesses during the busiest shopping weekend of the year. What started as a simple idea has grown into a nationwide tradition, one that fuels local economies, strengthens neighborhoods, and reminds us that where we spend our dollars truly matters.

Why Small Business Saturday Matters

When you shop small, you’re doing more than checking off your holiday list, you’re investing in real people.

You’re helping a family open their doors for another year.
You’re supporting local makers, dreamers, and risk-takers who pour their passion into every product and service.

You’re keeping our downtown vibrant, unique, and full of life.

Here in Madras, our local businesses aren’t just stores, they truly are the heartbeat of our community. They’re the friendly faces who remember your name, the makers who craft goods with love, and the places where memories are made every season.

How You Can Make a Difference

This Small Business Saturday, we’re inviting you to show up for the businesses that show up for our community all year long.

✨ Shop local first
✨ Choose handmade, homegrown, and locally crafted
✨ Grab a gift card for someone you love (or yourself!)
✨ Share your favorites on social media
✨ Bring a friend and make a day of it

Every purchase — big or small — helps strengthen our local economy and keeps our downtown thriving.

Let’s Make This Season Brighter, Together

Whether you’re hunting for the perfect holiday gift, craving something delicious from a local coffee shop or food truck, or wanting to explore the unique shops that make our town special, Small Business Saturday is the perfect chance to do it.
